College of Governance and Public Policy



College of Governance and Public Policy (CGPP) is the University of Makati teaching research and training hub for politics, public administration, development and governance. It offers baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate programs in political science and public administration, and the same fields of specialization under the executive program to government officials, employees and staff.

BACCALAUREATE DEGREE


Bachelor of Arts in Political Science Major in:

1. Local Government Administration

In this course you will learn the fundamental concepts of society, democracy, and principles of local government administration in Saskatchewan Introduction to Saskatchewan legislation relevant to municipal government processes, procedures and authority, Basic accounting principles, The history, purposes and principles of local government accounting, budgeting, audits, assessment and taxation with emphasis on Urban and Rural Municipalities and School Division accounting.



2. Policy Management

This course is ideal for professionals in the public sector, in not-for-profit organisations or in for-profit organisations involved in public policy or the delivery of public services. You'll gain the knowledge and skills you need to analyse and influence how policies are made and implemented in an age of increasing complexity. You will develop your capacity to help your organisation operate more effectively in the delivery and management of public services within challenging environments.
This course will prepare you for more strategic roles. You will be able to apply your learning directly to your work and choose from a range of option modules to ensure you are learning about what is important to you.

3. Paralegal Studies

Paralegal studies programs give students the knowledge necessary to work as paralegals and legal assistants. As a student in a paralegal studies program, you’ll develop a broad foundation that will prepare you to work in lawyers’ offices and many other businesses. You’ll learn about the judicial system and acquire the skills needed to assist with the preparation of legal documents and court cases. Paralegal studies programs vary in length and content.
